We are pleased to share the Humboldt Internship Program 2025 report, now available for download. As the first report of its kind, it offers a comprehensive overview of last year’s program, highlighting the wide range of research and start-up projects, student outcomes, and key program elements such as program events and workplace visits. It also reflects the strong engagement and collaboration between international students, researchers, and founders that define the program.

Call for Internship Projects: Humboldt Internship Program 2027

The Humboldt Internship Program (HIP) is a key element in the internationalization of research and start-up projects at Humboldt-Universität. Survey results from this year again highlight the program’s positive impact on research teams, start-ups, and international students.

We invite researchers of Humboldt-Universität and founders of Humboldt Innovation to join HIP in involving international students in their projects for three months in the summer of 2027. This is a unique opportunity to bring talented young researchers and start-up enthusiasts into your projects.

What you offer

• At least one English-speaking three-month internship placement in summer 2027
• A short description of your project and placement details for our webpage
• On-site supervision of the selected international student(s) during the internship

What we do

• Publish your offer on the HIP webpage and market it internationally
• Collect applications and forward eligible candidates to you
• Support you and the students throughout the entire process
• Handle all administration and preparation with the students

Additional information

• You select the student(s) for your placement.
• Multiple projects per research group or start-up are possible (one form per project).
• You may host more than one student per project.
• HIP also supports projects based on international university partnerships. You may give preference to students from a partner university, while applications remain open to all.
